Make contact.
Surfactants help a water-based solution wet oily surfaces and interact with contamination. Good liquid contact is the starting point for cleaning exposed surfaces and accessible recesses.

Chemistry + cavitation
Your ultrasonic cleaner creates the motion. The cleaning solution helps that motion work on the contamination. Together, they bring chemical and mechanical action to compatible parts.

Ninth Measure’s surfactant and solvent system is formulated to help loosen oils and residues within carbon buildup. The alkaline formula supports the cleaning process.
Ultrasonic pressure waves form microscopic bubbles that grow and collapse in the bath. Near a part’s surface, this creates localized liquid movement and mechanical forces that help detach contamination.
Cleaning depends on the deposit, the part, and the bath conditions. Thick or hardened buildup may need inspection, compatible spot-brushing, and another cycle. Give the solution access to the surface, avoid crowding the basket, and follow the product and equipment directions.
After cleaning, rinse as directed, dry thoroughly, and restore the protection specified by the part manufacturer. Replace a heavily loaded bath rather than expecting it to keep cleaning indefinitely.

Parts & finishes
The base material is only part of the picture. Coatings, seals, adhesives, and the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions matter too.
Confirm that both the cleaning chemistry and ultrasonic process are suitable for the part. Test an inconspicuous area and inspect between cycles, especially on aluminum and sensitive finishes.
Verify the firearm is unloaded and remove ammunition from the work area. Follow the part manufacturer’s disassembly instructions and give the solution access to the surfaces you want to clean.
Keep ammunition, optics, electronics, batteries, wood, and parts prohibited from immersion out of the bath. Check unknown coatings, bonded assemblies, and sealed components before cleaning.
After rinsing, dry every surface and internal passage. Restore the lubrication or corrosion protection specified by the part manufacturer before assembly or storage.
